Roles & Responsibilities

Head Librarian
Charles E. Krausz School of Podiatric Medicine

  • As library head, I am responsible for the leadership, strategic development, and maintenance of services and programs at the library. In addition to providing reference, research, education, and outreach services to support the clinicians, staff, and students at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), I serve as the liaison for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine physician assistant program, co-lead for the HSL student library advisory committee (SLAC) with the Learning & Engagement Librarian and work as part of the larger cohort of health sciences librarians at the Ginsburg Health Sciences Library.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT II
LEON LEVY DENTAL LIBRARY

  • Under the librarian's oversight, performs tasks related to managing the circulating desk, including hiring, training, supervising, and time reporting for all student workers.

  • Assists the librarian with time-intensive knowledge management projects & with directional and ready-reference questions.

  • Uploads dental theses and faculty publications to the University of Pennsylvania's open access institutional repository known as “Scholarly Commons”.

  • Puts items on reserve for Penn Dental School courses in ALMA and on Canvas

  • Participates in room scheduling activities and monitors library spaces

  • Assists patrons in locating and accessing library materials using tools such as Franklin, BorrowDirect +, E-ZBorrow, and PubMed Plus

  • Responsible for Document Delivery services, including Scan & Deliver, Call Slip, Borrow-Direct, and E-Z Borrow.

LIBRARY ASSISTANT
LIPPINCOTT LIBRARY

  • Assisted patrons in locating information resources and in using materials in the collections, using tools such as the Business FAQ, Franklin, and FindIt, as well as providing directional and procedural assistance with library-use only databases.

  • Supervised student assistants, including scheduling, training and assigning work.

  • Performed tasks related to the circulation of library materials such as charging, discharging, renewing, recalling and distributing library materials to users, searching shelves, and distributing various forms of circulation information.

  • Processed library materials including, but not limited to: preparing new books for circulation and display, checking in new journals and preparing journals for binding, barcoding and creating item records for older periodicals and serials.

  • Uploaded electronic reserve articles and book chapters into Ares for Canvas Library Course Reserves.

August 2013-August 2014

LIBRARY ASSISTANT I, ROSENGARTEN RESERVE

  • Performed tasks related to reserves operations such as: identifying and locating reserve materials from requests submitted by faculty, checking library systems for holdings, placing items on reserve and within courseware.

  • Assisted patrons in locating information resources and in using materials in the collections.

  • Used Gobi to purchase textbooks for course reserves

February 2011-August 2013

LIBRARY CLERK, BIDDLE LAW LIBRARY

  • Assisted patrons in locating information resources

  • Performed circulation clerk duties including charging, discharging, renewing, and recalling

  • Carried out collection management tasks for circulation and cataloging

  • Delivered documents and books for Law School faculty

  • Maintained loose-leaf publications and pocket parts

       Maintained stacks including shelving materials, shifting and             weeding
